The 7 Habits Book

Black women's emotional lives matter!

The idea that Black women’s needs, and rights are important is no longer confined to arenas such as feminist journals, a few poems and the occasional acknowledgment around kitchen tables. Black women's emotional needs are now central to an exploding public discussion. These discussions are like seeds that are bursting into full bloom with fragrant visibility. Such discussions are encouraging future generations of Black women to unapologetically include their emotional needs and rights in their womanhood work.

It is not ok for Black women to be alone!

One issue that is repeatedly raised is the ‘large numbers’ of Black women heterosexual women who are un-partnered. Although many involuntary Black single women come from different walks of life and from different parts of the globe, there are some experiences and legacies that many have in common. These commonalities relate to their tenacity and productivity and also the negative interconnecting impact of colonisation, enslavement, and discrimination. There are certainly longstanding and difficult 'truths' about Black women’s gendered work.

In light of the above, my work utilises sociological and Biblical insights to identify and disentangle some of the social and 'spiritual' arrangements that conspire against Black women. This sets the scene to introduce a liberatory methodology that can unlock the stronghold of involuntary singleness. A Transformational Training programme has been running to provide an educational mentoring journey that is transforming lives.

The eBook ‘The seven habits for Black women who want to marry’ assumes that there is a solution to the high rates of Black women’s singleness and offers a simple process to support ‘sistas’ to choose new ways to navigate their lives towards love.
